We all know how our printers die a week after their one year warranty expires, or how our smartphones myteriously stops working a few days before the release of a new one.
Some of us know about the Phoebus cartel, controlling manufacture and sales of light bulbs around 1940, keeping the quality low, and making sure no one was putting long lasting ones on the market.
But all of these are amateur techniques. I hereby present the ultimate best practice for programmed obsolescence: make it out of chocolate.
